God has a way of sending us little reminders as we journey through life with Him. Out of His great love for us He orchestrates seemingly random occurrences that end up being just what we need to hold on to hope and continue to walk in faith in the midst of challenging circumstances.

The other day as I was browsing through the latest posts on Facebook, the chat box popped up and a young person, whom I have the privilege of knowing, asked me a question. Her question was, “What’s a good Bible verse on courage?” I answered her back and said, “Just a minute, while I find one for you.” As I went to retrieve my Bible from the living room, I asked the Lord to show me which verse He wanted me to share with her. I opened my Bible to the book of Psalms and it wasn’t long before my eyes fell on a verse that I had underlined at some point along the way. As I read the verse several times, I was certain that it was the right one for my friend. I typed, “How about Psalm 16:8 – ‘I have set the LORD always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.'” My friend responded immediately and said it was just what she was looking for. As I sat and thanked the Lord for His answer, it suddenly dawned on me that this was the very verse that I needed to boost my faith and trust for what I was facing at the time. I quickly typed, “God used you to encourage me today. That was just the verse I needed too!” As I logged off of Facebook, I marveled at the goodness of the Lord. In His love and faithfulness, He encouraged not one, but two of His children at the same time!
