Now that you are a new creation in Christ…tell someone! Do you know any other believers in Christ? If so, call them and tell them of your new found faith in Jesus. They will be thrilled to welcome you into the family of God. I would also like to know.
Please click on the "Request Prayer" button below and fill out the form. My prayer team wants to pray for you as you begin your walk with Jesus.
It is vitally important that you get a good translation of the Bible and start reading it. I recommend The New International Version for new believers because it is easy to read and understand. Or The New American Standard Bible which is known for its accuracy of translation. If you are unable to purchase a Bible on your own, I invite you to use the link in the menu to request a free copy.
Begin by reading the Gospels, which are the first four books of the New Testament: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The word "Gospel" means "Good News". And these first four books tell of the Good News of Jesus and you will learn to know Him better.
It is also vitally important that you associate with other believers in Jesus so that you can have support and encouragement and have someone to pray with in times of need. Pray and ask God to lead you to a strong church in your local area and attend regularly. This is important for you to grow in your faith and knowledge of the Bible and in your relationship with God.
As soon as you are able, be baptized. Baptism symbolizes how as followers of Jesus we have died to sin (symbolized by going under the water) and are raised to new life in Christ (symbolized by coming up out of the water). Romans 6:4, “We were therefore buried with him (Christ) through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
In Matthew 28:18-20, just before Jesus went back to Heaven following His resurrection He came to the disciples and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Baptism is your public statement of your inner decision to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.
John 1:12
“Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name he gave the right to become children of God.”
1 John 3:1 “How great the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
